The St. Joseph Hall of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba was filled with laughter, nostalgia, and the unbreakable spirit of Letranistas as the Alumni Homecoming took place on March 9, 2025. This special gathering brought together alumni from various batches, especially the esteemed Jubilarians from the Classes of 1985, 1990, 1995, and 2000, for an afternoon of heartfelt reunions, rekindled friendships, and cherished memories.
A Heartfelt Celebration of Faith and Friendship
The homecoming festivities commenced with a Holy Mass at the St. Albert the Great Chapel, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Hilario V. Sicat, Jr., O.P., and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Ritchie R. Fortus, a proud High School alumnus of Letran Calamba. The mass set the tone for the day, reminding everyone of the deep bonds that unite the Letranista community and the good and beautiful memories they have in Letran. Fr. Sicat’s presence throughout the event further enriched the celebration, as he engaged with alumni and shared in the joy of the occasion.
Warm Words of Welcome
Following the mass, Ms. Janice A. Ilao, Assistant Director for Linkages and Alumni, delivered an inspiring welcome address:
"Today is more than just a reunion; it is a celebration of our shared history, a rekindling of friendships, and a reaffirmation of the lifelong bond that unites us as Dugong Arriba. More importantly, this gathering marks the first day of the week-long 46th Foundation Celebration of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba—a fitting occasion to honor our legacy and the institution that has shaped us. Letran naming mahal. Letran magpakailanman!"
Ms. Ilao also acknowledged the significance of Letran Calamba in shaping its alumni, many of whom have chosen to enroll their children or grandchildren at the Colegio, further strengthening the school’s lasting impact.
Honoring the LeCAA and Our Generous Sponsors
During the program, the Letran Calamba Alumni Association (LeCAA) Board of Trustees was introduced, followed by an update from LeCAA President, Ms. Melinda P. Lit. She shared the association’s ongoing projects and future initiatives aimed at fostering alumni engagement and supporting the Colegio.
The success of this year’s Alumni Homecoming would not have been possible without the generous support of numerous alumni sponsors, whose contributions helped create a wonderful and memorable experience for everyone. The Colegio extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors for their unwavering commitment to keeping the Arriba Spirit alive.
