Teaching and Learning Modalities

Q: What teaching and learning modalities are implemented at Letran Calamba?

A: Letran Calamba continues to adopt the Hybrid-Flexible (HyFlex) learning model, a versatile approach that adapts to the evolving post-pandemic educational landscape. The HyFlex model is designed to maximize engagement and interactivity in both online and face-to-face settings.

Letran Calamba implements a predominantly face-to-face setup, with at least 80% of courses conducted on campus. Professional courses, as well as those requiring laboratory or hands-on practice, are delivered face-to-face to ensure competency-based learning. At the same time, certain courses are offered online, particularly those taught by expert faculty based in distant locations. Plenary classes, such as enrichment programs and selected general education courses, are also permitted to be conducted online.

Classes are delivered in both synchronous and asynchronous formats. During class disruptions, learning shifts to asynchronous delivery, where students are provided with supplementary reading materials, video streaming content, and problem-solving guides. They also engage in group activities such as case studies, research projects, and collaborative exercises to sustain active learning.

All syllabi, modules, and assignments are uploaded to Canvas LMS, while MS Teams serves as the platform for collaboration and online sessions. Periodic examinations, however, are administered face-to-face to maintain academic integrity and rigor.

A:  For transferee applicants, the total number of credits must not exceed 40% of the total number of required academic units for residency purposes. General education courses shall be the first to be credited, followed by professional courses with higher ratings.

A: For second-degree earners, all courses that are taken and passed and are included in the curriculum of the desired program can be credited.

Q: What is the maximum allowable failure rate for transferee applicants, and which grades are considered failures

A: To be admitted, transferee applicants must not incur failure of more than 12.5% of the total units in the desired program of enrolment.
