Pathways to Discovery: A Journey Through Research Colloquium
The Research Department aims to provide a research culture that is rooted in data-driven, evidence-based approaches, and to present the students' research outputs through Saliksikan 2024: Student Research Colloquium for the students of BS Psychology and BA Communication from the School of Education, Arts, and Sciences (SEAS) with the help of the two school organizations: Communication Arts Society of Letran Calamba (CASTLE) and Psychological Function Society (PFS), held today, April 19, 2024, at the M Building, Room 301 of Letran Calamba.
For the Opening Remarks, Dr. Richard John Brian D. Manzano, Dean of the School of Education, Arts, and Sciences set the tone of the colloquium by giving the noteworthiness of the research, especially to the students who are conducting their research and by sharing some of his experiential learning on how the proceedings of a research colloquium. He also acknowledge all the students, student researchers, and faculty members who attended the research colloquium.
The selected students from the BA Communication and BS Psychology help future student researchers understand and generate knowledge and information in understanding societal issues and finding solutions to increase current knowledge by discovering new facts. It leads to new knowledge that can improve the perception of what, why, and how research works. The presenters show what are the particular methods or procedures used in gathering information based on their learning and experiences.
Some faculty members were also present to support their students as they presented their research papers to everyone. The RD would like to acknowledge the presence of Ms. Pamela Rose A. Tagulinao (Program Chair, BS Psychology), Dr. Jennibelle R. Ella (Faculty Member), and Mr. Michael Denzel B. Asiseo (Faculty Member).
With her moral support for the said school, Dr. Ma. Xenia Z. Bitera, Senior Director of the Research Department and Center for Professional Development shares a very impactful takeaway by commenting on how interesting all their research outputs are. She mentioned every group's research topics and provided enough memorable words by giving the deepest gratitude for the depth of their studies and the clarity of their presentations that shed a new light on these important and emerging topics.
As the bird PHOENIX symbolizes hope, freedom, and the possibility of a fresh start, the SEAS students will be placed in the highest where learning is conducive and where their dreams take to the peak of success.
