Festive bright lights and the glowing spirit of joy again filled the Letran community as they started their celebration of the Christmas season. The theme “Paskuhan sa Sambayanang Letran” inspired the community to be actively involved in this season of giving.

It started with the Eucharistic celebration presided by its Rector and President, Rev. Fr. Arthur B. Dingel, O.P. and concelebrated with the priests from the St. Albert the Great Convent. The Officer-In-Charge for Religious Education, Mission and Identity (REMI) Division, Rev. Fr. Norman I. Quilaquil, O.P. then delivered his welcome remarks. The program was made loud and cheerful as the Christmas Cantata was once again seen on stage. Various Christmas presentations showcased the talents of the administrators, faculty, employees, alumni, students, and parents from different divisions of the Colegio.

The re-launching of the Pamaskong Anghel Christmas project, a partnership between Jollibee Food Corporation and Letran Calamba, was one of the highlights of the program. This 20-year partnership continues to bring happiness and good news to the children in the partner communities. Representatives dropped off their symbolic gifts into the Pamaskong Anghel box representing the collected toys and books for distribution. The dance showdown of Jollibee and Letran’s very own King Arthur allured the audience, especially the kids.

Rev. Fr. Dingel, King Arthur and Jollibee culminated the activity with the lighting of the 23-foot tall Christmas tree adorned with brightly colored parols and decorative lights. Its color symbolizes hope that each one of us should continuously nurture, while the sparkling lights represent the joy that we can share to others.
