Celebrating five Successful and Inspiring Years of Creativity and Innovation

Letran Calamba Robotics Team sets a new achievement in a back-to-back Robotics Championship feat. The entry titled "Aquatic Z.O (Aquatic Zero Oil Skimming Robot" was hailed as the Grand Champion in the Bi-Annual National Invention Contest and Exhibit (NICE 2016) of the Department Science and Technology-Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI). It was held on July 27-31, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center, MOA Complex Pasay City. The team competed among 17 regions in the country and proudly represented CALABARZON (Region IV-A). The student researchers were Mary Emjay Cairo, Rafael Red Angelo Hizon, and Jose Carlos Paco. Mr. Nestor B. Sienes as their research coach.

 

On August 24-27, 2016, the Robotics Team won in the 2nd World Robot Games 2016 held in Lembang Asri Resort, Bandung, Indonesia. The team brought home the following awards:

 

3 Gold Medals Innovative Robot Junior Category;

  • Ralph Manuel Rosilla
  • Cassandra Angelie Larin
  • Santricia Faye Santos

2 Silver Medals Robot in Movies-Disaster Recovery; and

  • Ralph Manuel Rosilla
  • Santricia Faye Santos

1 Bronze Medal – Sumo Robot 1kg Junior.

  • Jonathan Gilbert Ignacio

 

While the members namely Yuan Rogel Isiah Maningas, Justin Noel Aquino, Justine Samuel Micosa, Bareender Jet Ballgan, and Mohit Singh successfully reached the finals competitions.
